Today I am delighted to have Lauren Persons, mom and educator, on the podcast for #29DaysofMagic! She talks about her first job when she was 12 and then her next job as a cashier. She talks through her career journey working for the federal government, working for the private sector, until she finally started listening to herself and she is now at a 3rd grade educator. She likens being a teacher to being a mother, and how teaching really is preparing children to be people in all areas of life. She talks about how today's teaching environment has to deal with a lot more attention competition and how teachers need to help students with their life stories and how teachers have their own life stories that they need to put on pause, but that doesn't mean they are not people.
