Jason Mackey reacts to Pirates survey

PG columnist Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason reacted to the survey the Pirates sent out to fans. The guys discussed what the big issue is here – is Ben Cherington not allowed to spend money or is he afraid to do it? Jason doesn’t think the payroll was destined to go above $90M, but he thinks Bob Nutting probably wants it around there, and it isn’t right now. Jason doesn’t agree with Nutting’s approach, but he said he’d likely spend more money if he saw more winning. Jason doesn’t think making the best offer to a free agent means they will get him and that there are other factors involved.
